Kira E Harris, PT, DPT, Cert MDT, CIDN, CMPT
Dr. Kira Harris, a proud University of Michigan Flint graduate with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, embodies dedication and compassion in the field of outpatient orthopedic and neurologic care. With over 14 years of specialized experience, Kira has continually pursued excellence, earning certifications in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT), Dry Needling (CIDN), Manual Physical Therapy (cMPT), and is currently working towards a certification in Cranial Sacral Therapy.
Her journey began in a corporate setting where she was disheartened by the impersonal, rushed treatments that prioritized profits over patients. This experience ignited her passion to create a practice centered on personalized care and genuine patient relationships. Kira’s commitment to continuing education ensures she provides the most effective and up-to-date treatments, integrating education, hands-on manual therapy, and customized exercises into each 60 to 90-minute session.
Kira’s deep empathy and understanding are profoundly shaped by her personal experiences with injuries. From knee injuries sustained during high school to a torn rotator cuff in 2024, she knows firsthand the challenges of recovery and the importance of compassionate care. These experiences have strengthened her ability to empathize with her patients and offer informed, supportive guidance throughout their recovery and prevention journeys.
When treating patients, Kira brings an infectious positive energy into each session. She fosters an environment of open dialogue, verbal encouragement, and even light-hearted jokes, creating an atmosphere of overall happiness. Her vibrant approach not only enhances the treatment experience but also supports her patients in feeling motivated and cared for.
Outside of her professional life, Kira is a dynamic individual who has transitioned from full marathons to sprint and Olympic distance triathlons, and enjoys a diverse cross-training routine that includes cycling, swimming, Pilates, yoga, boxing, and strength training. Her love for reading, continual learning, and spending quality time with her five children further highlights her balanced, energetic approach to life.
